Varun Chakravarthy Posts ‘Anna’ for Vijay as TVK Wins Tamil Nadu Election
One word. That was all Varun Chakravarthy needed.
The KKR spinner posted an old photo with Thalapathy Vijay on his Instagram story on Monday, captioning it with a single word: “Anna” — a Tamil term of respect meaning older brother. The post went viral within hours.
The context was massive. Vijay’s political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), had just pulled off a stunning debut at the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections — winning 108 of 234 seats to emerge as the single largest party. Vijay, the former actor, is now set to become Chief Minister.
Chakravarthy is Tamil himself, currently in the middle of the IPL season with KKR. He’s not the type for long political speeches. One word said everything he wanted to say.
