USA name T20 World Cup squad, Jones dropped

The United States have announced their squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup, confirming the omission of Aaron Jones following his recent ban, while Saurabh Netravalkar has been included. The squad was unveiled on Thursday as preparations intensify for the global tournament.

Jones, a former captain, was left out after disciplinary issues ruled him unavailable for selection. In contrast, Netravalkar’s return bolsters the bowling attack, with the left-armer expected to play a key role. “We’ve selected a group that gives us balance and depth,” a USA Cricket official said.

Head coach Stuart Law added that the focus was on “form, fitness and discipline,” stressing that “every player must meet team standards.” A senior player described the squad as “hungry and ready to compete.”

The announcement marks a significant step for USA cricket as the team looks to make an impact on the world stage in 2026.
