Thushara Apologises to Sri Lanka Board After Taking NOC Dispute to Court

Nuwan Thushara has backed down. The Sri Lanka fast bowler, who filed a petition in the Colombo District Court seeking an NOC to play in IPL 2026 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, has now apologised to Sri Lanka Cricket and signalled he will withdraw legal proceedings.

In an email to SLC chief executive Ashley de Silva, Thushara wrote: “My sole intention throughout this process has been to seek fairness and justice. The steps I had considered were driven by a desire to have my concerns heard, rather than to create conflict or bring disrepute to the organisation.”

SLC had denied him the NOC after he failed a mandatory fitness test. The saga appears over — Thushara will miss IPL 2026.
