Tanvir still last Pakistan player in IPL final

Sohail Tanvir remains the last Pakistani cricketer to appear in an Indian Premier League final, a milestone that dates back to the tournament’s inaugural 2008 season.
The left-arm pacer played for Rajasthan Royals when they defeated Chennai Super Kings in the final in Mumbai to win the first IPL title. Tanvir was one of the tournament’s standout performers and finished the season as the leading wicket-taker.
“It was a memorable season for us,” Tanvir once recalled about the historic campaign.
Since 2008, Pakistani players have not featured in the IPL due to political tensions between India and Pakistan. As a result, Tanvir’s appearance in that final remains the last time a Pakistan cricketer played on the league’s biggest stage.
