Suresh secures Asian Games squad after Davis Cup heroics

Dhakshineswar Suresh has earned a place in India’s Target Asian Games program after starring in the Davis Cup tie against the Netherlands in Bengaluru, where his wins helped India seal a dramatic 3–2 victory. The 25-year-old delivered two key singles victories and also contributed in doubles, emerging as the hero of the weekend and catching the attention of national selectors.
“It’s a different feeling when you play for your country,” Suresh said after the tie. “You give everything because the whole nation is behind you.”
India captain Rohit Rajpal praised the youngster’s composure under pressure. “Not many players can step up like that in a Davis Cup battle,” he said. “Suresh showed real belief and fearless tennis.”
The new support program will provide funding, coaching and international exposure as India prepares its top prospects for the next Asian Games.
