Shivam Dube emerges as key India T20 option

India all-rounder Shivam Dube has strengthened his case for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after a series of impactful batting displays, drawing praise from team insiders and former players. The left-hander’s ability to dominate spin in the middle overs has put him firmly in India’s plans for the global event.

Dube recently played decisive knocks for India, striking at over 150 and regularly clearing the boundary against spinners. “He gives us balance and fearless intent,” a member of the Indian support staff said, as quoted by Indian media.

Former cricketers have also backed Dube’s rise. “When Dube gets going, he can change games in five overs,” said ex-India batter Suresh Raina.

Dube credited his clarity of role for the surge in form. “I know what the team expects from me, and I back my strengths,” he told reporters. With the T20 World Cup still a year away, Dube is quickly shaping into a serious weapon for India’s title push.
