Sanjay Bangar Says Keep Ishan Kishan as SRH Captain — Even After Cummins Returns
Pat Cummins is targeting a return on April 25. But not everyone thinks he should get his captaincy back.
Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has backed Ishan Kishan to continue leading Sunrisers Hyderabad even when Cummins is fit again. Kishan stepped up as interim captain after Cummins was ruled out with a lumbar stress injury, and SRH haven’t looked back.
Cummins missed the T20 World Cup too. Kishan, meanwhile, was India’s second-highest scorer in that tournament and has brought calm authority to the dressing room.
The argument for continuity is strong. Whether SRH management agrees is another matter — and Cummins’ return on April 25 against Rajasthan Royals will answer that question.
