RR Manager Romi Bhinder Faces BCCI Action Over Dugout Phone Use

You’re not allowed a phone in the dugout. Romi Bhinder used one anyway.

The Rajasthan Royals team manager was caught on camera using a mobile phone in the dugout during their IPL 2026 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Guwahati. It’s a direct breach of PMOA protocol — phones are allowed in the dressing room, not on the bench during play.

BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit has now issued a show-cause notice. Bhinder has 48 hours to explain himself. A ban is possible depending on the match referee and ACU report.

“It could be inadvertent, but there has to be some action,” a BCCI official said. The IPL Governing Council will have the final say.
