Rahane Fined Rs 12 Lakh as KKR’s Over-Rate Woes Continue After CSK Loss

The losses are piling up. So are the fines.
Ajinkya Rahane was docked Rs 12 lakh after KKR maintained a slow over-rate during Tuesday’s 32-run defeat to CSK at Chepauk — the team’s first such offence of the IPL 2026 season under Article 2.22 of the code of conduct.
KKR have now lost four of their five games. Their only point came from a washout against Punjab Kings. Rahane acknowledged the batting has been the core issue. “No real momentum with the bat,” he said. The slow over-rate fine added insult to an already painful evening.
Five teams have been penalised for slow over-rates in IPL 2026 so far. KKR have now joined that list.
