PCB Cancels Abu Dhabi ODI Amid Tensions

The Pakistan Cricket Board has cancelled the scheduled ODI in Abu Dhabi this week following escalating Middle East tensions after reported Israel–US strikes on Iran, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The match, set to be played at a neutral venue in the UAE, was called off as a precautionary measure due to security concerns and regional instability. PCB stated the decision was taken after consultations with local authorities and security agencies.
“Player safety is our top priority,” a PCB spokesperson said. “Given the current situation, it was prudent to cancel the fixture.”
A team official added, “We were prepared to play, but security comes first.”
The cancelled ODI was part of Pakistan’s ongoing international calendar in Abu Dhabi, a venue that has hosted dozens of their home matches in recent years due to logistical constraints.
