Pandya Misses Dharamsala as Back Injury Clouds MI vs PBKS Clash

Hardik Pandya stayed behind in Mumbai on Wednesday while the rest of his Mumbai Indians squad flew to Dharamsala for the Punjab Kings game. The MI captain has been out since picking up a back spasm and missed the last two matches. He hasn’t cleared himself to travel yet.

He did post a video of himself in the nets — batting against throwdown specialists — which is something, but it’s a long way from being match-ready for a game happening that same day.

Suryakumar Yadav is also a doubt. Mumbai are already in a difficult spot in the table and playing a game this big without their captain and their first-choice batter is about as bad a scenario as they could ask for.

Whether Pandya flies up on matchday is still unclear. MI haven’t said much publicly.
