Mumbai stormed to a third straight Vijay Hazare Trophy win on Monday (Dec 29) in Jaipur, skittling Chhattisgarh for 142 and chasing 144/1 in just 24 overs to stay top of Group C. Skipper Shardul Thakur set the tone after choosing to bowl, ripping through the top order with 4/13 as Chhattisgarh crashed to 10/4 inside five overs. Shams Mulani then finished the job with a match-turning 5/31, taking the last six wickets for 27 despite a 105-run stand between Amandeep Khare (63) and Ajay Mandal (46). In reply, Angkrish Raghuvanshi struck 68* and Siddhesh Lad 48* in an unbroken 102-run stand. “All thanks to our physio Mr Suresh… I feel much better now,” Raghuvanshi said, adding the surface turned into a “batting paradise” later.
