Mukul Choudhary Hits LSG to Last-Ball IPL Win Over KKR

Mukul Choudhary had no business being this calm. Lucknow Super Giants needed 17 off the last over. A 22-year-old was at the crease. And somehow, he pulled it off — finishing unbeaten on 54 off just 27 balls as LSG chased down 182 to beat Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets off the very last ball Thursday night.
It was the kind of knock that changes careers. Choudhary, a pace bowler by trade, walked in with LSG in trouble and proceeded to hit seven sixes in an innings that defied logic. He was named Player of the Match. He barely looked surprised.
“I see it as an opportunity rather than taking pressure,” Choudhary said after the game. “I knew one ball would be in my area and I needed to hit just one six.”
KKR had posted 181/4 on the back of a sensible batting display. Angkrish Raghuvanshi made 45, Ajinkya Rahane chipped in with 41 up top, and Rovman Powell smashed 39 not out to push the total past 180. It looked like enough. It wasn’t.
Abhishek Badoni had given LSG hope first, making 54 in the middle overs before Choudhary finished what he started. LSG’s chase was a mess for large stretches. But one player decided the night was his. And it was.
