KSCA Left Fuming After IPL 2026 Final Stripped Away Without Explanation

Karnataka knew something was wrong. They just weren’t told what, or when.

The KSCA said Wednesday that the BCCI had not communicated any specific reasons for pulling the IPL final from Bengaluru. The body expressed clear disappointment — they had been engaged in talks with BCCI officials throughout the process and believed things were moving in the right direction.

They weren’t. Sources suggest the KSCA had asked for passes for politicians and association members — demands the BCCI considered unacceptable. Ticket black-marketing concerns added to the breakdown. The BCCI cited requirements from local authorities that fell outside established guidelines.

What stings more is the context. RCB won the 2025 IPL title, which traditionally earns the champion’s home ground the final. Chinnaswamy should have had it. Now it goes to Ahmedabad for the second straight year.

“Specific reasons were not communicated,” KSCA said. That’s the part they can’t move past.
