India women set for rare Test clash vs South Africa
India Women will host South Africa Women in a one-off Test during their upcoming home tour, adding a rare red-ball contest to the schedule as part of efforts to grow the longer format.
The Test will be played alongside ODIs and T20Is, giving both teams a chance to adapt beyond white-ball cricket. “Test matches are crucial for overall development,” a BCCI official said. Another source added, “It challenges players in ways limited-overs cricket cannot.”
India have been strong in recent Tests, while South Africa are keen to prove themselves. “It’s a big opportunity for us,” a team member noted.
The match is expected to add excitement and push the growth of women’s Test cricket.
