India U19 surge in Super Six as Sooryavanshi, Kundu and Malhotra fire

India Under-19 marched strongly in their ICC U-19 World Cup 2026 Super Six clash against hosts Zimbabwe at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on January 27, carrying momentum from an unbeaten group stage into a commanding batting display. After Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to field, India rode big knocks from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhigyan Kundu and Vihaan Malhotra to set a challenging total.
Sooryavanshi blasted a quick fifty, showing aggressive intent early and swinging the game India’s way, before Kundu and Malhotra each reached their half-centuries, anchoring the innings and keeping the run rate high. “We trusted our game plan and built partnerships when it mattered,” said an India U19 source after the match. A Zimbabwe bowler responded that “India’s batting was relentless today and we struggled to break partnerships.” With this performance, India look set to cement their bid for a semi-final spot in the tournament.
