India U19 Beat Afghanistan to Seal World Cup Final Spot

India Under-19 booked their place in the ICC U19 World Cup final on Tuesday, February 4, after a seven-wicket victory over Afghanistan in the semi-final played in South Africa. The win was powered by standout performances from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Aaron George.

Afghanistan were bowled out for a modest total after India’s disciplined attack, with George leading the charge through key breakthroughs. “The boys executed the plans perfectly,” India coach said. “This was a complete team effort.”

In reply, Sooryavanshi anchored the chase with a calm and composed knock, guiding India home with plenty of overs to spare. “I just wanted to stay focused and finish the job,” the young batter said after the match.

Afghanistan captain admitted the pressure told. “India were better in all departments today,” he said.

India now advance to the final, chasing another U19 World Cup title as their impressive tournament run continues.
