India Monitor Rana After Late Injury Scare Before T20 World Cup

India’s build-up to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup suffered a minor setback after pacer Harshit Rana was forced off during a warm-up clash against South Africa on February 4. The fast bowler appeared to be in discomfort and did not return to the field, prompting caution within the camp.
Rana was taken for medical evaluation immediately after the incident. “It’s a precautionary move,” a team source said. “The medical staff are assessing him, and clarity will come soon.”
Indian team officials played down serious concerns but admitted the situation is being closely tracked. “We don’t expect anything major, but we won’t take risks,” a support staff member noted.
The 22-year-old has impressed in recent matches and is viewed as an important bowling option. With the World Cup just days away, India will be keen to ensure Rana is fully fit ahead of the tournament.
