Harshit Rana Undergoes Surgery, IPL Availability in Doubt

India fast bowler Harshit Rana has undergone surgery on his injured finger and is set to miss a significant part of the upcoming Indian Premier League season, Indian media reported on Tuesday. The procedure was carried out this week after the Kolkata Knight Riders pacer failed to recover through conservative treatment, putting his early IPL participation in serious doubt.
“Harshit needed surgical intervention as the injury was not healing as expected,” a BCCI source told The Times of India. “The focus now is full recovery rather than rushing him back,” the source added.
A KKR official also sounded cautious, saying, “We will closely monitor his rehab and take a call only after medical clearance.” Rana, who impressed in recent domestic and international outings, is expected to be sidelined for several weeks, dealing a blow to both his franchise and India’s fast-bowling depth ahead of a packed season.
