Hanumankind to perform before India-Pakistan clash

Rapper-singer Hanumankind will headline the opening ceremony ahead of the India-Pakistan match at the T20 World Cup 2026 in Colombo on February 16, organisers confirmed, adding star power to one of cricket’s most anticipated rivalries.

The performance will take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium shortly before the high-voltage Group stage encounter, aiming to amplify the spectacle surrounding the subcontinental showdown. “It’s an honour to perform on such a massive stage,” Hanumankind said in a statement. “India vs Pakistan is more than a game, it’s pure emotion.”

Tournament officials said the move is designed to “blend sport and entertainment on a global platform,” promising a vibrant pre-match atmosphere for fans in the stadium and worldwide.

With millions expected to tune in, the clash already carries enormous weight in the tournament standings, and the musical build-up is set to raise the temperature even further before the first ball is bowled.
