After Lucknow Super Giants fell to a six-wicket defeat against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka was spotted on the Ekana outfield in what looked like a pointed conversation with captain Rishabh Pant and head coach Justin Langer. Pant gesticulated. Goenka pointed. The video went everywhere.
Fans immediately reached for the 2024 comparison — when Goenka was caught having a similar intense exchange with the then-captain KL Rahul after a heavy loss. That episode became one of the most-discussed moments of last season.
Goenka moved quickly to kill the narrative this time. He posted on X within hours. “I have full confidence in our captain and the team to respond with strength,” he wrote. “This is a long season, and moments like these are part of building something meaningful.
