Gharami’s 299 Powers Bengal into Ranji Semifinals

Sudip Kumar Gharami smashed a career-best 299 to drive Bengal into the Ranji Trophy semifinals on Sunday, sealing a dominant knockout win. The triple-century anchored Bengal’s huge first-innings total and left their opponents with no way back.

Gharami batted for over a day, mixing patience with authority as Bengal tightened control of the match. “I just focused on batting long for the team,” Gharami said after falling one run short of a historic triple hundred.

The opposing skipper admitted the contest slipped early. “Once we couldn’t break that partnership, the game was gone,” he said. Bengal’s coach added the knock was “one of the finest innings this season,” as the team booked a place among the last four.
