Fakhar Zaman Handed Two-Match PSL Ban for Ball Tampering

Lahore Qalandars opener Fakhar Zaman has been suspended for two PSL 2026 matches after being found guilty of ball tampering during the side’s four-wicket defeat to Karachi Kings on Sunday.

The incident surfaced in the final over of Karachi’s run chase. Umpire Faisal Afridi flagged the ball after it changed hands between Shaheen Afridi and Zaman. Match referee Roshan Mahanama held a hearing after Zaman contested the charge. He found him guilty regardless.

Zaman breached article 41.3 of the PSL code of conduct. Under the regulations, a first Level-III offence carries a minimum one-match ban and a maximum of two. He got the maximum.

Lahore will now be without him for upcoming games against Multan Sultans and Islamabad United. Zaman has 48 hours to lodge an appeal.

It is the third major disciplinary story to hit PSL 2026 in the space of days — and the tournament is barely into its second half.
