Ex-Delhi Cricketer Wassan Calls Gambhir a Bully in Fresh Salvo at India Coach

Atul Wassan and Gautam Gambhir go way back. That’s exactly what makes this sting.
The former India pacer and ex-Delhi cricketer came out swinging this week, calling Gambhir a bully — a man with an ego “on a different level” whose approach is simple: my way or the highway. Fall in line, or end up on the hit list.
“He would bully people even in Delhi cricket,” Wassan said. “If you don’t agree with him, you’re finished.” He described Gambhir’s personality as aggressively alpha — confrontational, with no room for dissent. He even referenced the long-running Gambhir-Kohli tension as two similar personalities clashing.
The timing is awkward. Gambhir just led India to the T20 World Cup title. Wins buy silence — and Gambhir has been winning. But Wassan isn’t staying quiet.
No response from Gambhir yet. He rarely explains himself. That, his critics would say, is exactly the problem.
