Delhi Capitals Beat UP Warriorz by 5 Wickets to Reach WPL Eliminator
Delhi Capitals secured a five-wicket victory over UP Warriorz on Feb. 2, 2026 at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara to advance to the Women’s Premier League (WPL) Eliminator, after bowling the Warriorz out for a modest 122 and chasing the target in a nervy finish.
Capitals’ chase was anchored by a strong opening stand between Shafali Verma (29 off 33) and Laura Wolvaardt (47 off 36) that laid a platform before a mid-innings wobble made the final overs tense. Skipper Jemimah Rodrigues (34 off 18)* held her nerve, guiding Delhi home in the penultimate over.
“We stuck to our plans under pressure,” Rodrigues said, praising her side’s composure. Warriorz captain Meg Lanning acknowledged Delhi’s discipline but noted her team missed opportunities in the field. With this win, Delhi will face Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator for a shot at the final.
