CSK sign Johnson as Ellis ruled out of IPL 2026
Chennai Super Kings have roped in Australian quick Spencer Johnson for Rs 1.5 crore after Nathan Ellis was sidelined with a hamstring injury ahead of IPL 2026.
“Ellis is a big loss, but Johnson adds pace and variety,” a CSK official said. The left-armer, with 18 wickets in 13 international matches, has prior IPL stints with Gujarat Titans and KKR.
“I’m excited to join CSK and contribute,” Johnson said, while a former player noted, “He has the tools to succeed in Indian conditions.”
