Court filing accuses former MLB pitcher Carl Pavano of disturbing acts toward ex-wife
A new court filing in Connecticut by Alissa Pavano accuses her ex-husband, former Major League Baseball pitcher Carl Pavano, of peeing in her shampoo bottles and intentionally soiling the bed she uses during her parenting time by having female sex partners occupy it.[1][2]
The filing, submitted amid ongoing disputes following their divorce finalized in December 2023, further alleges that Pavano removed all clean linens from their Fairfield home, leaving her without a hygienic bed during her custody periods.[1][2]
Alissa Pavano also claims Pavano sent photos of multiple firearms laid out on the kitchen table to her and their three children via group chat shortly after divorce papers were served.[1][2]
Earlier reports indicated that police responded to the couple’s Fairfield home nine times over the past two years, amid accusations of controlling behavior including name-calling, cutting off expenses and threats regarding their children.[3][4]
The couple shares joint custody of their three children, alternating weeks at the Fairfield property, which Pavano owns through a trust.[1][2]
Alissa Pavano’s lawyers argued in the filing that Pavano forced her to sign a one-sided prenuptial agreement under threat of taking the children and leaving her destitute.[1][2]
“A prenuptial agreement is an acceptable way for individuals, prior to marriage, to condition how their financial interests and responsibilities will be determined after marriage,” the lawyers stated. “It should not be an acceptable way for a monied spouse who has already started a family with his significant other to force her to give up her financial independence, and then to extract financial advantages in the premarital agreement under the threat of taking the minor children away from her and leaving her destitute.”[1][2]
Carl Pavano, 48, pitched professionally from 1998 to 2012 for the Montreal Expos/Nationals, Florida Marlins, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins. He was selected to the 2004 All-Star Game and finished his career with a 148-134 record and 4.30 ERA over 2,201 innings.[5]
After being traded to the Yankees in 2003, Pavano signed a four-year, $39.95 million contract ahead of the 2005 season but made 51 starts over four injury-plagued seasons with the club.[5]
