Clark Expected to Start Thursday as Fever Visit Golden State Again
Caitlin Clark has been listed as probable for Indiana Fever’s road matchup against the Golden State Valkyries on Thursday, May 29, 2026, as she manages a back issue that has required monitoring through the early weeks of the WNBA season. Teammate Bree Hall is also expected to be available.
Clark missed Indiana’s May 20 contest against the Portland Fire – her first absence of the season – but the Fever won that game 90-73 without her. She returned for last Friday’s meeting with the Valkyries, scoring a team-high 22 points in another 90-point Indiana victory, the club’s third consecutive win. Clark spent her off day on Wednesday attending the San Francisco Giants’ game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Oracle Park, roughly a mile from the Valkyries’ home arena, alongside Connor McCaffery.
Indiana’s situation this season stands in sharp contrast to 2025, when Clark was limited to 13 appearances after sustaining a groin strain and an ankle-bone bruise, having played all 40 regular-season games and earned Rookie of the Year honours in her debut campaign in 2024. The two-time WNBA All-Star’s ability to stay available has been a central factor in the Fever’s current run of form.
Thursday’s game in Golden State will be the second meeting between the two sides within a week. A Fever win would extend their winning streak to four games.
