Chinnaswamy Honours Dravid and Kumble With Dedicated Stadium Ends

Chinnaswamy Names Ends After Dravid and Kumble in Grand Tribute
M Chinnaswamy Stadium gave two of cricket’s greatest sons their permanent place in its history on April 5, officially naming its bowling ends after Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble ahead of the RCB vs CSK IPL 2026 clash.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association renamed the old BEML end the “Rahul Dravid End” and rechristened the pavilion end the “Anil Kumble End.” Family members of both legends were present at the ceremony, presided over by KSCA president Venkatesh Prasad — himself a former India bowler who shared dressing rooms with both men.
“A fitting tribute to two of India’s finest cricketing stalwarts,” the IPL wrote on X as the plaques were unveiled.
The numbers behind the names are staggering. Kumble took 953 international wickets across 401 matches — India’s highest ever — and remains the only Indian to claim all 10 in a single innings. Dravid scored 24,064 international runs across 599 innings, averaging 45.57 with 48 centuries, before coaching India to T20 World Cup glory in 2024.
Opposite ends. Same legacy. Chinnaswamy will carry both names into every match played there from now on.
