Now with 17 wickets in nine matches this season and sitting top of the Purple Cap standings, he’s closing in on the record for most wickets in a single IPL season by a pacer.
He’s 36. He’s not fast. He’s never been the most spectacular bowler in any attack. But he hits lengths that batters can’t get away, swings it in helpful conditions, and never gives anything for free.
