BCCI Want Bumrah to Play Every Single WTC Test From Here

No T20Is. No ODIs. Just Tests.

The BCCI have a clear plan for Jasprit Bumrah — protect him for the entire World Test Championship cycle. That means sitting out the Afghanistan one-off Test in June (it doesn’t count towards WTC points), and missing large chunks of India’s white-ball schedule, but playing every meaningful red-ball match from here on.

India have Tests against Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and a five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia starting in January 2027. After a home whitewash against South Africa, the selectors want their best bowler fresh, fit, and available for all of it.

Bumrah’s already checking into the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence between IPL matches for workload management. The plan is serious.
