Bangladesh maintain stance on Mustafizur’s India travel

Bangladesh have reiterated to the ICC that their position on fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman’s travel to India for the T20 World Cup remains unchanged, citing ongoing security concerns. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the stance this week as preparations continue for the global tournament.
Mustafizur, one of Bangladesh’s most experienced T20 bowlers with more than 100 wickets in the format, is a key part of the squad, but officials insist player safety is the top priority. “Our concerns have been clearly communicated to the ICC,” a BCB official said. “The situation has not changed.”
The ICC has been in talks with participating nations over travel and security logistics ahead of the World Cup, which will see matches hosted across India. “We are monitoring the issue closely and remain in discussion with all boards,” an ICC source told local media.
Bangladesh stressed that the matter is not limited to one player. “This is about overall security, not individuals,” the official added, as uncertainty continues just months before the tournament begins.
